Don’t miss a short introduction to our documentary in the making “Dreaming Taranto.”

On May 7 at 3:30pm CET we will discuss the film on the occasion of Villard:21 – a web conference by Politecnico di Torino, Department of Architecture and Design, in collaboration with several other Italian Universities.

Urged by the New Urban Agenda of the United Nations, Villard:21 explores the transformation of Taranto’s post-war residences from “social housing” to “social habitat.”

Born as a workers’ district, Tamburi is a high risk environmental and health disaster residential area existing under the fumes of the steel manufacturer conglomerate ArcelorMittal.

If on the one hand, urban planning is rethinking these areas and their possible relocation, there is an urgent call for inclusion and consideration of what community residents really need for a better life.

The conference will be live streamed on Villard’s Youtube channel.
